Jorge Santos' exquisitely rendered oil and acrylic paintings depict illusions, allegories, and symbols in a hyper-realistic style. Ultimately leaving the meaning up to the viewer, Santos paints alluring and eccentric scenes where nothing is quite what it seems. His quizzical narrative structures seem to reference a world we recognize in which relationships between characters are fraught with complexity - either in their closeness or in their distance. |
