Humanity has evolved to its current state due to its species-specific adaptability and plasticity. With population numbers rapidly increasing, we are confronting local and global decisions regarding food and food production, which will have profound impact in the coming years. “Food and Food Systems in the 21st Century” intends to suspend political and ideological platforms to examine what is becoming obsolete, what is current, and what is possible on both a community and global scale.
Speakers include:
· Jason Kelly Johnson and Nataly Gattegno (Future Cities Lab)
· Biologist John Marshall
· Tara Kolla (Silver Lake Farms)
· Ken and Kathy Lindner (Lindner Bison, Authors of Standing Into the Storm)
· Laura Avery (Santa Monica Farmers Market)
· Attorney/rancher/author Nicolette Hahn Niman
· and others
Tickets to this daylong event include a pre-event mixer with before-hours access to the Fowler exhibition Second Skins: Painted Barkcloth from New Guinea and Central Africa, a catered box lunch, and a post-event wine and cheese reception. |
